What Cat Says - Beauty | MUA LUXE Metallic Liquid Lipsticks - Blaze & Glint

So a couple of months ago I bought and shared these two liquid lipsticks on social media and a couple of you gals were interested in seeing a review on them! These are the MUA LUXE Metallic Liquid Lipsticks, and I bought them with the full intention of them being great staple lip colours this autumn and winter. I love wearing darker lips when the weather gets colder, so these were right up my alley. And now without further ado, let's see how I got on with them...

I've never seen metallic lip colours before. I mean I've seen shimmery lipsticks but that's as far as I've seen, so I was really intrigued by these lipsticks. The liquid lipstick has pretty much taken over regular lipsticks and I have to say I am so into them. They're great and come in some amazing colours and colour-wise these are no exception.
Blaze is a gorgeous, glittering, dark red and Glint is a beautiful, dark shimmery brown/taupe colour. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just unsure on how to explain Glint's colour exactly.
I've been wearing them on and off for the last couple of weeks and I have a lot to say about them, but first let's have a look at what they look like on:

BLAZE

For general and more versatile use, Blaze is my favourite. It's a gorgeous burgundy red colour and though I expected it to be a little darker, love it the way it is. It shimmers beautifully in the light and applies more like a gloss. It's pretty opaque covering the lip in one even coat thanks to a handy doe foot applicator I forgot to photograph for you. It has that metallic look you're expecting from this product but I don't think it's as metallic as I expected. A more high density shimmer if you ask me.

GLINT

I can't help it but blaze is my favourite overall for uniqueness. It's a gorgeous colour and looks awesome on even if it does wash out my skin a lot. It makes for a great winter look though. It's definitely more metallic looking than Blaze with a beautiful high density shimmer and like Blaze applies more like a gloss (which I wasn't expecting), making it easy to remove when eating, drinking or even if you accidentally touch your lips. This isn't something that puts me off though. It is quite sheer when you apply it so it does need two coats or one quite thick one which makes this a little harder to wear.

SO? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?

If you like metallic lip colours and love the look of these, I would recommend them. They're a great price at £4 each which means this is a great budget product and I should mention MUA is also cruelty-free!
But... There are a couple of things putting me off buying another one of these, bearing in mind I really wanted to buy the dark almost black one Twinkle. The particles that make these liquid lipsticks metallic are actually quite grainy and you can feel them on your lips which bothers me a little bit. I like my lipsticks to be really smooth and soft on my lips and these are not.
Secondly, I think the formula making my lips tingle. This isn't a bad thing really as it isn't doing me any harm at all, it's just I'm aware of the tingling and I'm not sure why it happens. I've had this before but I've never pin pointed what it is.
This isn't to say I won't buy this again and I don't recommend it because, I would. Their amazing colour and effect is awesome and great for party looks and maybe even Halloween! The tingling and particles hasn't put me off wearing it every so often but it won't be an everyday lipstick for me. I would like to see MUA improve the formula, because I would definitely buy more of these because they look awesome. For now, I think I'm going to delve into their Velvet collection for some amazing new winter colours! ♥

What do you think of these liquid lipsticks? Would you try them out yourself?
