If you didn't already know, I'm a huge fan of candles and wax melts. In my living room, I have a big box full of candles and wax melts that I love to change up every couple of days or so. Which scents I burn usually depend on the mood and atmosphere at home or the weather. I love walking into a room and having the most gorgeous scents fill the air. It instantly puts me in a good mood and makes my house feel a little more homely!
Over the last few weeks, I've been trying out a local small business,
Lacé Marie Candles' candles and wax melts. I love buying wax melts and candles from small businesses and I genuinely don't remember the last time that I bought candles or wax melts from a non-independent business!
Who is Lacé Marie Candles?
Lacé Marie Candles is a Hertfordshire based small business, which makes natural hand poured candles and wax melts in some of the most beautiful scents. I absolutely adore her packaging and her affordable prices. With wax melts starting from £3 and hand-poured candles starting at £7.00 her products would make amazing gifts for friends and family or you could buy a hefty haul for your own home like I'm planning to!
Champagne Citrus Scented Natural Soy Candle
The first product that I've been trying out is one of her hand-poured natural soy candles in the champagne citrus scent.
What I like about this scent is that it's really light and refreshing. You can definitely smell the champagne scent which has been mixed with a hint of grapefruit, rose and lily. It's not one of those potent scents that you notice the minute you walk in the room but one that fill the air quietly. If you know what I mean...You notice it but it's not over the top. Which is why I like it. This is what I would consider a perfect day-to-day scent.
Berry Scented Personalised Wax Melts
The second product I've been trying out has been Lacé Marie Candles' new personalised wax melts which would make the perfect gift for any wax melt lover. You can get between 3-8 letters with the prices ranging from £2 for 3 letters - £4.50 for all 8 letters. Since John and I got engaged, I decided it would be cute to get our names and so I got Cat x John!
These wax melts are a great size and you can use as many or as little as you like when melting. I used four of mine at once in a regular sized wax melter so that I can save the other four for another time.
As for the scent, mine were berry scented which smells amazing. I love sweet and fruity scents and so I was always going to be a big fan of this one. The way the scent fills the room is different to the champagne citrus scent which is a lot gentler. The berry scent is more potent and fills the room quite quickly. If you love strong and fruity scents, I would definitely recommend the berry scented wax melts.
My final thoughts
I'm not going to lie, I already have two favourite places to get my wax melts and candles from and Lacé Marie Candles is now on that list of places to go. I'm already planning my haul of wax melts and candles from Lacé Marie when I begin to run low with the wax melts I already have. (I don't have space in my box for more at the moment!) I just love her wax melts and candles already.
Lacé Marie Candles has a range of scents that would suit anyone. From gentle and sophisticated scents like champagne citrus and perfume inspired scents to bolder scents like birthday cake and Spring Unstoppables (inspired by the washing beads).
Her prices are also super-affordable and by buying from her, you're also supporting a local/small business. What's better than supporting a small business!?
