12 Things in 2020

There is so much I want to tick off my ever-growing bucket list and this year I've picked out twelve fun and exciting things that I'd particularly like to check off that list in the next twelve months. I'm buzzing to see what 2020 brings and alongside the exciting things that are already planned, I'd really love to make this year an amazing one. With all the things happening at the moment, it's shaping up to be a good one and ticking these off could only make it better!

On my list are a few things that I didn't get to tick off my 30 before 30 list just yet but plan to in 2020! I've already got a couple of these booked and I'm excited to update this post as I tick these off.

  1. Go to Kew Gardens.
Last year I almost went about three times but never got around to going. I was meant to for a blogging event, I tried to book it around Christmas time and I also tried to go in the summer but couldn't find the time to. Luckily, this year I think I have an opportunity to visit really soon and if not, I'm going to book it in advance for the summer holidays. I've always heard about how beautiful it is and it'd just be amazing to finally experience it.
  2. Eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp.
For my birthday, my brother got me a voucher to spend at Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant in London. It was something else I had on my 30 before 30 list that I never got around to but now that I have a voucher, I have no excuse to not go this year. (Plus, I love the film, Forrest Gump so I wanna go for the novelty of it too tbh.)
  3. Make Meat-free Mondays a regular thing.
Last week was the first of many Meat-free Mondays and I made a fab Quorn sausage and sweet potato bake that both John and I loved! I'm not vegan, nor am I vegetarian yet but I'm becoming more and more interested in the vegan and vegetarian diet and have been eating more vegan and vegetarian meals on a regular basis. I love trying new recipes with meat-free alternatives and Meat-free Mondays give me an opportunity to do just that every week as well as trying new recipe and foods. It's also something I want to do to support the planet, prevent climate-change and reduce my contribution to animal agriculture.
  4. Go to Comicon London... finally.
I have been meaning to go to Comicon year upon year and this year I'm going to make it happen! John and I are going to attend once and for all and I'm really looking forward to it. I plan on attending the one in May and I'm really looking forward to it.
  5. Upcycle some furniture rather than buy all brand-new things.
This year I want to make my home warmer. I need to get some new furniture for the house and instead of going out and buying something new and expensive, I want to be a bit more eco and buy something second hand and upcycle it. I already plan on upcycling our dining room furniture but I plan on buying a couple of other pieces of furniture that might need upcycling too.
I upcycled our dining room table! See post here.
  6. Sew something.
I bought a ton of fat quarters last year and never used them. I planned to borrow my mum's sewing machine and make some things out of them but I never got around to it. I want to find time this year to do just that and make my sewing projects happen.
  7. Sign up to a ((Bounce)) class.
In my journey to being a fitter, healthier and more confident person this year, I really want to sign up to Bounce again. I went to Bounce classes for about three months before I moved and I just never found a Bounce class nearby. This year, I want to start going again because I remember it being one of the only fun workouts I've ever had!
  8. Reinvent my wardrobe once and for all.
Once and for all, I want to clear my wardrobe of all the things I don't wear and will never wear again. I have this idea in my head that when I can fit in all my clothes again, that I'll wear it all again but I know it's not the truth. My style has changed and I need to get rid of a lot of my old clothes to make room for anything new that fits with the style I suit and love right now.
  9. Sign up for a blogging course.
I'm really enjoying being a blogger again and alongside my goals for 2020, I want to sign up for a course that is going to improve my skills and knowledge as a blogger. I want to make sure it's the right one so I'm taking a look around. I plan on doing it mid-year in August when I have some time off and I'm looking forward to learning something new to bring my blog and I to a new level.
I signed up to Grow and Glow and I'm excited to be part of a learning platform that will help me improve things around here!
  10. Buy a new phone.
Week after week I find my phone is slowly becoming slower and oddly quieter. I can't hear much when I hold my phone to my ear anymore and loudspeaker is the best option. It's also being a little slow and the memory is too small for the updates it needs so it seems a new phone is on the cards. I plan on upgrading at some point this year and I'm really looking forward to getting a new phone as soon as I can!
I got myself an iPhone 11 in February.
  11. Use facemasks weekly.
I have so many facemasks in the bathroom that I don't use and I seem to be accumulating them at a fast pace more so because I don't use them as often as I should. I want to make facemasks and skincare a bit more of a habit and facemasks are going to be a weekly thing. I want them to either be on a Sunday or Monday evening for a fresh start to the week and because my skin is screaming for some love right now.
  12. Dedicate time to reading.
Last but not least, my lack of reading is something to be ashamed of. 2020 will be my year to read and I want to dedicate a small amount of time each week in the evenings to read before bed. They say having your screen on before bed is bad for you so I want to replace that time I usually spend on my phone with a book. I have so many amazing books that I haven't read yet and it's about time I do.

What's on your to-do list this year?
