Where Have I Been?

Apart from a break I took a few months ago, this has been the longest I've gone without blogging ever. Since going back to work three weeks ago, life has just been a whirlwind and I haven't had many moments to just take a breath and stop. The moment's I have had, I've spent them having some well-deserved 'me time', spending it catching up with things I have to do or with my family.

What Have I Been Doing?

Just last weekend, I spent the entire weekend with my family who'd come over from Portugal and France for my mum's 50th birthday party and my cousin's 3rd birthday. It was an amazing weekend and I really appreciated the time spent with my family, especially because I haven't been able to visit them over in Portugal for a couple of years now.

Three week ago, I also started work somewhere new. I still teach but with moving, I also moved to a new school. Being in a new place with a new workload and new routines, I've taken time over the last three weeks to really focus on my work and make sure I'm settled, learning what I need to learn and getting into my new work routine.

I've also been spending my time getting into my new life routine. Being a new home owner, having a new job and trying to have a healthy work-life balance had proven challenging over the last few weeks. I thought I had things together but then I remember something else I haven't done. You'd think after three weeks into my new normal I'd have things down by now, but I'm struggling with it to be honest. Nevertheless, I'm persevering to find and get into my new routine asap.

Last but not least, any free moments I've had, I've spent recuperating and relaxing. Whether it's with a bath, cooking something new, having some me time or just enjoying catching up on some TV and doing nothing - because that's all I'm capable of some evenings. I've seriously needed it and so I've taken it where necessary. Can I just say, having TV to watch again has been lethal. I've been binge watching things when I can. Currently watching GBBO, Celebs in Solitary, The Circle and lots of Netflix.

How Have You Been Feeling?

Despite being truly busy, I've been feeling good - really. I'm super tired a lot and I dream of my Saturday morning lie ins but I feel like I truly appreciate my weekends now! Though I have a lot to do, I'm quite happy with life at the moment. The things I'm doing are things I genuinely need to do and aren't pointless jobs. Just like I said on my Instagram Stories the other day, I'm not upset or annoyed that I have lots to do because I genuinely enjoy and love doing what I do. I adore my job and being a new home owner, the house stuff is still all novelty so I don't mind having to do jobs around the house. I just really wish there was more time in the day to do the other things I want to do, like the art projects I want to start and my blogging.

What Now?

With all my time skewed up, I've been reflecting a lot on what the future of my blog looks like. I did at one point consider if I'd have to just 'give up' blogging because I'm not having any time to at the moment. But the more I thought about it, the more upset and sad I felt about leaving this all behind. It's been a part of me for so long that I don't want to let it go. I love blogging and I'm still so passionate about it and having my place on the internet, so it's not something I intend on giving up any time in the foreseeable future. You never know, I might be 60 and still blogging one day!
I'm pretty sure (about 80% sure atm) that things are going to level out soon and I'll be back to blogging regularly. My regular is about 2-3 posts a week or about 8-14 a month at the moment (apart from this month - soz).  It just might mean that for the next couple of months, you'll need to give me some time to catch up with myself and get settled into my new life properly. I think as things finally start to settle, more content will begin to flow back on here.

I'm sorry if you're a regular reader and I've just disappeared from here over the last few weeks. As I said, regular scheduling will resume again shortly. I have been pretty active on Instagram which has been easier to manage (simply because it's so instant), so you can follow me there if you don't already. I'm @CatttSays.

This post has pretty much been me rambling on for 7 questionable paragraphs and I hope you don't mind. I've sort of just typed and left it as unedited as I could. I just felt like posting something and explaining my whereabouts. I have a couple of posts I'm actually working on over the next week so there will be new posts up very soon!

I'd love to do a post on ways to organise and management time better (despite my lack of ability to do this atm). If you have any tips I'd love it if you shared them in the comments and if I include them in that post, I'll be sure to credit you :)

It's Friday tomorrow! Have a fab weekend
