My 2018 Goals

Last year I successfully reached most of the goals that I had set myself at the beginning of 2017. I had such a great year and achieved so much. Normally, I would have set my 2018 goals by now but I had a bit of trouble figuring out what I want them to be. Over the last week, being back at work and to some sort of normality, I've picked up on a few things I'd either like to do or change this year. My goals are going to be a mix of blogging goals and life goals like usual and I'm getting excited about them, now that I know what they are!

BUY A HOUSE
This is a huge goal for 2018 and one I share with John. This year we're hoping to finally fly from our nests and into our first home together. This goal means an awful lot to both of us  and it's a huge goal. It's also a big change that comes with a lot of feelings. It's scary but it's also extremely exciting. This goal depends on a lot of things but we're going to work hard to make sure this is our year and that everything goes to plan.

FINALLY BE CONFIDENT & HAPPY IN MY BODY
I've had this same goal year after year. I had decided that I wasn't going to set this as a goal this year in a hope that it might just.... happen? Anyway... The other day I got on the scales and gave myself a little reality check. It's something I need to do not only for my own confidence but my own health too. This goal means having a healthier diet and doing some form of exercise. It scares me a little bit, I have a bit of 'gym-timidation' but I need to get over it.

BE CREATIVE
I feel really positive about this goal. In 2017, I started to get creative again and it was bullet journalling that opened up my creative flow. I started doing some crafts and DIYs too and I had so much fun with it that this year, I want to continue to keep in touch with my creative side. I'm feeling good about it and I don't have an exact way to measure how creative I'm being, but I'm hoping by the end of the year I can say "yeah, I've definitely been creative this year". Whether it's painting, drawing, DIYing, crafting or just bullet journalling, I will be creative this 2018.

Last year, Ana gave me a bunch of books to read and I also bought myself some. I read two books in 2017 and I loved them but I didn't end up reading anything else after that. This year I want to read what I have at least. There are only about 8 - 10 books, but I think I can do it. It's one book a month! Or more if I'm feeling enthusiastic about it!

REPLY TO BLOG COMMENTS
Last year I sucked when it came to blogging. I reached none of my blogging goals and I had the longest blogger's block and lack of motivation in the history of blogging. Since participating in Blogmas, I've regained my motivation and picked up on a couple of things I should do better when I'm blogging. One of them is communicating with my readers. I'm so sorry if you commented on any of my blog posts last year and I didn't reply. I wasn't good at it and this year I aim to do better. I'll reply to every blog comment and do it well. I want to engage with you all because I wouldn't still be blogging if it weren't for you. 💕

ENJOY BLOGGING
Last year, I enjoyed blogging but in small chunks but not completely. I think I was so focused on other things so much that blogging wasn't my getaway thing anymore. This year I'm feeling positive about blogging and I've made some big changes in the way I think about my blog and what I'm going to do with it from now on. I already have a few things planned including a couple of events! I'm actually excited about what 2018 will bring to my blog and how I feel about blogging. With an ever changing blogging community, I plan on changing some things around here myself! Good changes though, I'm excited about it.

This year there is no goal for followers or to hit any stats. Of course we all love stats and it'd be lovely to increase them but I've come to a point in my time as a blogger that it's not a big deal. There's a lot of factors about why I've come to this point but it's for another blog post. It's just something I've mulled over for the last year and want to talk about. I'm not leaving blogging if that's what you're thinking! But keep an eye out for my next posts to see what's going on.

I'm feeling positive about these goals and the changes in my life. They're realistic and I know I can achieve them with just a little extra hard work. 2018 is going to be another amazing year and I can't wait!
