Beauty | My Favourite Lipsticks

It was only the other day when I was sifting through my makeup reorganising it that I rekindled my love for lipstick. I have a huge collection of lipsticks and could honestly say I've probably got over 50 in my makeup collection. I don't wear lipsticks as often as I used to but after finding those all-time favourites I'm all for lipsticks again! Today I'm sharing with you my top 13 lipsticks in my collection. I've split them into brights and natural colours for this post and marked cruelty-free lipsticks with (CF). Enjoy!

Disclaimer: any lipsticks in this list that are not cruelty-free I had bought before my decision to become cruelty-free. I do not believe in waste which is why those that are not cruelty-free stay in my collection until I am ready to throw them away or they are empty. I am sharing these because they are my true favourites and I respects others people's decisions to be cruelty free or not.

BRIGHTS

These are my top 6 bright lipsticks in my collection. I'm a sucker for a bright lip colour and especially when they're super opaque and long lasting. I've still got Stone Fox (charcoal) and Sway (lilac) on my wishlist to add to the brights in my collection but for now, these are my tops.

(From L-R swatched)

L'Oréal Colour Riche Matte in Androgyne -  This is my favourite everyday Barbie pink! Of all the brights this is probably the easiest to wear on a daily basis. I don't do very well with the shimmering pinks as the glitter irritates my lips but this matte colour is perfect and the pink shade I searched everywhere for.

Rimmel Long Lasting Lipstick in Pink Blush - My second favourite pink that's a more natural pink and probably a better pink for daily wear. I love this colour for when I need something bright but not in-your-face-bright if you know what I mean? It's a more pearlescent shade of pink so it's great for spring/summer dewy makeup looks.

MUA Luxe in Funk (CF) - This was the very first liquid lipstick I tried and I fell in love with it. I bought these way before MUA released their current velvet liquid lipsticks. The formula is so opaque and long lasting and finished with a beautiful matte finish. The only thing that bothers me is that it feels a little bit drying on the lips but I just make sure my lips are always moisturised in case I want to wear this beautifully bright pink!

Seventeen Stay Pout in Make an Entrance (CF) - This is my favourite red. I love the classic reds but this is closer to the neon red/orange end of the spectrum of red lipsticks. It's a beautiful creamy formula and lasts well. It's probably my most used red in my collection.

MUA Luxe in Atomic (CF) - Just like the bright pink MUA Luxe liquid lipstick, this is the same just in a bright red. This is my go-to shade when I wear red during the day simply because it's so long-lasting. I usually only have to reapply once during the day too. As before, it dries matte but in a beautifully vibrant red.

Nyx Liquid Suede in Amythest (CF) - Last but not least of the brights is probably my boldest and brightest lipstick of them all. This purple beaut is one of those once in a while lip products and not really one for a work day! I love wearing this when I'm feeling like having some fun with my makeup. It's so long lasting and dries matte like most liquid lipsticks but it's not very drying. The only thing I would say is that it does begin to flake away after a while leaving an awkward blend of purple and your natural lip colour!

NATURAL

These are my top 7 natural shades in my lipstick collection. I know that first one could have been classed as a bright but I usually wear it with more muted down makeup looks so I thought it would fit best here. I never used to like natural lipsticks but as I've got older I have a new and deep appreciation for them. Love the natural colours and I can see myself buying more of these in the future than the brights!

MUA Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Passion (CF) - The newer of the MUA liquid lipsticks that I have and a beautiful coral colour! When  I bought this I did expect it to be more of a nude colour but upon application found out it was a coral, nevertheless I love it and is pretty much my only coral colour in my collection. I love this new formula MUA have given their matte lipsticks and I'd love to add Iced, Unity and Reckless to my collection next. They're so beautiful and I can't get enough of them!

Seventeen Stay Pout in Saintly (CF) - This is one of my favourite lipsticks for layering. On it's own it's definitely not a favourite but to add a light shimmer to any lipstick this is brilliant as it's quite sheer so colour pops right through it. I love layering it over pinks especially and nudes too. It's a simple very light pink shimmer lipstick and though I mentioned shimmers usually irritate my lips this one seems to not to which is a bonus for me!

Sleek VIP Lipstick in Private Booth (CF) - This is my one and only Sleek lipstick and one I wear very often for a natural look more towards the coral side. What I love most about this lipstick is not only the opaque colour but the formula is smooth, creamy and long lasting.

Rimmel Long Lasting Lipstick in Birthday Suit - Next up is my most natural nude and my favourite when I want to wear lipstick but keep that 'naked face' makeup look. It's a shame that it's not by a cruelty-free brand because if it was I would repurchase this as I'm close to finishing it I think.

MAC Frost Lipstick in Strength - The last and only one of three MAC lipsticks I own. I love the smell of MAC lipsticks but again the fact they're not cruelty-free is gutting. What I love most about this shade is the metallic copper colour and the frosty shimmer of the lipstick. It's great to glam up a natural makeup look if you're looking for a darker lip.

Nyx Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Teddy (CF) - My darkest lipstick I think this one is and a good one too! I wasn't 100% about the lingerie lipsticks from NYX but I'd probably pick them over the suede any day now. They dry matte but are much more moisturising on the lips. I love this to create a more dramatic natural makeup look. Like a Kylie Jenner inspired look if you know what I mean?

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Mulberry - Last but not least is my favourite dark red in my collection. This is a beautiful pearlescent dark red-maroon colour. It looks absolutely gorgeous with matching eye makeup and for more classic red lip and cat flick eyeliner looks. It's such a beautiful opaque colour when it's on and applies beautifully.

So those are my favourites! I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at them. What are your favourites in your lipstick collection? I haven't got an ultimate favourite at the moment as I usually pick them to suit my makeup and mood.
