#ABowlShared | A Girls Night In with Butterkist

I am an introvert and a half. I love being indoors doing indoorsy things, and when I do those fun indoorsy things, I like having friends around. A lot of my friends are also my family, so when Butterkist asked me if I'd like to try their new popcorns with a couple of friends, I invited my cousin and blogger Maria to come round and my sister Angela to join in a girly night in! We had three new Butterkist flavours to try out, a pass for Now TV movies and all the goodies you can see above. How about I let you know how our girls night in went?

With busy weekends for both of us for a few weeks, we decided to have our girls night in on a weekday. One where Maria and I were both free from studies and well, where my sister Angela didn't have homework! With Now TV set up on the Xbox One, the fire on, all our goodies in front of us and every blanket I own on our sofa we were set up for a cosy night in with a girly film. Our film of choice for the evening was Sisters! It seemed fitting with the family theme going on.

Unfortunately, Maria wasn't staying overnight so we decided to save our facemasks Butterkist gave us for another night. We're big lovers of 7th Heaven's face masks, so we were all keen to use them together at a later date!
I made our hot chocolates before we got started in our special Butterkist mugs (which I think are so cute!) and I think I was the only one who truly enjoyed a popcorn flavoured hot chocolate! Maria is more of a coffee person I think, and my sister didn't really like the popcorn-hot-chocolate fusion, but it didn't mean we didn't enjoy some hot chocolate melted marshmallows! The marshmallows were gone pretty quickly, and we forgot to buy the whipped cream for the top too. Silly us.

With Sisters picked as our film for the night, we began to tuck in and opened up the popcorns pretty sharpish, starting with the Choc Mallow flavour. I was instantly in love with this flavour, as was Angela! I loved the sweetness of the chocolate mixed with the popcorn. It tasted much like the hot chocolate, but better I'd say. I'd also been savouring this by taking small bags of it to work each day as a snack. So moreish!

Mid way through giggling away at the film - which is perfect for girl nights in, we opened up the other two popcorns with the Coconut and Raspberry flavour next which we all thought was odd but intriguing all at once. I, again loved this one personally but not so much for Angela or Maria. We could taste that coconut flavour straight away and after a while there was a pleasant raspberry aftertaste. It was interesting because it didn't hit you all at once, but in parts. It wasn't anyone's favourite though being one of those out there unusual but still very nice combinations!

Next up, we tried the Salted Caramel popcorn. This was Maria's favourite. Maria absolutely loves Salted Caramel so this was right up her street and my sister liked it too. Angela was a bit indifferent to this one. I, myself am not a fan of salted caramel. I love caramel, but I don't get the salting of it... Not for me! I can't say this wasn't nice though, because it was - just not my fave.

So which ones would we recommend? As you could probably tell, we'd probably recommend them all to you, since we did enjoy them all and they were all practically gone by the end of the night. Personally, I will definitely be buying the Choc Mallow flavour again. I think Maria would probably buy the Salted Caramel again. I should text her to double check, but she went home with them so that's validity enough for me that she loved them!

I'd like to take this this spot on this post to thank Butterkist for an awesome night in with the girls! We all really enjoyed it, and I'm going to be having a second one with my gal pal Ana when she comes over soon. I'll have to stock up on Choc Mallow popcorn and some of your classics.

Have you tried Butterkist's new flavours yet? NO!? You must ♥

  1. OMG! I must try the chocolate mellow ones as well as the salted caramel! I've been hooked on salted caramel ever since I ate a salted caramel macaroon whilst we were in Covent Garden!👌🏻💕
