What Cat Wore | Pink Monochrome

What Cat Says - What Cat Wore | Pink Monochrome

Just before writing this post, I was trying to put together an outfit I'd previously photographed to this one. But as every blogger knows, sometimes it just doesn't go to plan and you can see it's going to be a terribly post! There was only one photo I liked from about 30, so I decided to forget about it and maybe you'll see it in an outtakes or never-shared-outfits post at some point. Anyway, instead of just not posting anything at all since, I thought I'd share this outfit instead which is one of my new favourite 'work wear' outfits! ♥

This shirt was an unlikely purchase from Primark. I know it looks like something I would buy because it's pink and monochrome, but the 'no collar' thing and the belt was really putting me off. Alas, I was shopping for a couple of decent new pieces for work when I bought this and tried it on in the fitting room. I was happily surprised to find that I actually suit this sort of collarless type shirt maybe better than a regular collared shirt. I don't know, all I know is that I like it because I feel like it looks effortlessly 'smasual'. I love that word. I love things that are smasual like this too! It's my favourite kind of style and it's right up the street style I'm looking to send my wardrobe into.

I wasn't exactly sure how I'd be styling this and when I pulled out my chequered trousers I thought they'd look good together. But now that I styled it like this, I think I would probably prefer to wear it with some plain black trousers to make the shirt more of a statement. Bring out that pink you can barely see on the right side of me too. (Your left)

Shirt - Primark / Trousers - Topshop / Shoes - Primark / Bag - Oasis via John Lewis

Of course, I had to show this shirt off with my latest and greatest bag added to my staples for this year. This bag was £20 from Oasis in their sale and is one of those cute reversible ones. So it can be pink or a taupe colour. I'm digging the pink side right now, but when I'm bored I'll turn it inside out! It also came with a little shoulder bag too which was amazing since this is now my work/study bag. It's for all my books and stuff and if I have too much stuff, I can use the little one inside for my personal things. Talk about an 'everything' bag! I used a gift card to buy this that was kindly given to me as a leaving present from my work friends. So thanks work friends!

Anyway. I can't wait to style this again maybe with the black trousers I said about and maybe some different shoes. Hmmm. Actually I've got a couple more ideas now. This isn't the last time you'll see this shirt! ♥

Also. Would you like to see a "what's in my work bag" post!?
