May Favourites

It's time for another 5 monthly favourites and this month I'm loving sweets, highlighters, reading and cute fashion pieces. I fought with myself as a couple of my other favourites carry on from last month including my brightly coloured heels from Quiz and my Revlon Matte Lip Colours! I've been loving them so much I can see them making the cut for my 2016 favourites already. Onto May's Favourites:

JewelleryBox.co.uk Brontosaurus Necklace *
Earlier on this month I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with jewellerybox.co.uk. I've always admired their jewellery and enjoyed meeting them at last years #bloggersfestival! They kindly sent me some beautiful jewellery including this Brontosaurus Necklace I'd love since I first saw it at the festival. Though I love my big bold jewellery, I love this for days where I want something a little simpler but still quirky and cool! I've loved wearing this with plain tops and darker clothing to stand out a little more.

No7 Highlighter
I've been practising my contouring with almost every make up look I've created this month. I've really been enjoying all of my contouring products but most of all this beautiful highlighter I received in a No7 gift set a couple of years ago. I love rediscovering things in my makeup box and though this has always been an all-time favourite in my collection, I do go months forgetting about it and reverting to a new highlighter or my other favourite by Seventeen. It gives a gorgeous glittery sheen that isn't too much and highlights perfectly mixing the lighter tones in this highlighter with the darker nude tones for a more natural 'glowy' look.

Pop Pips
So at the beginning of the month I attended an Open Day at our local Dog's Home and they had a little sweet stand where they sold all sorts of traditional British sweets including pop pips. I bought a packet of sherbet pop pips and lets just say I've been hooked on the little balls of sugar since. I feel guilty about this knowing that I'm supposed to be eating a lot healthier but I only have about 5/6 pips at one time and only about once or twice a day! And when I went to Great Yarmouth with John, we walked into our favourite sweet shop and I found these little bottles of pop pips! I thought they looked so cute and thought they would make great small snacks to keep in my room that I bought two bottles. I love them - I've probably only eaten an eighth of them and I've had them about a week too!

The Year I Met You - Cecelia Ahern
I've been saying I'd get back into reading since the start of 2016 and have been doing a bad job at it until this month when I picked up a book sitting on my shelf unread called The Year I Met You. I'm only about a quarter of the way through this book but I'm really intrigued by the character even though at the moment I don't like her. And because I don't like her all that much I really want to find out more about her and the other character in the book - which I also don't like though his story is still a little mystery at this point. I'm not too sure if this is going to be a love story or not, but it doesn't seem like it at the moment and I don't want to give too much away. If you have read this, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the characters and the story by the end of the book. Because at the moment I just want to know where this goes... We shall see.

Slogan Sweater - Mango/ASOS
So if you've seen my recent outfit post featuring this sweater you'll know the background story as to why I bought it in the first place. Long story short, I saw Rosie from The Londoner wearing it on her Instagram and I loved it so much the next thing I did was buy it. The fabric and style of the sweater is lovely and it fits perfectly. And the quote is beautiful really. I'm a huge fan of slogan tees and sweaters but I'm seeing lots with a bit too much negative sass and I prefer the kinder more inspiring ones to be honest - like this one! Though a late purchase this month I've really loved wearing this and can't wait to wear it more in June.

What are your favourites this May?
