2015 Highlights

The last year has been a good one if I do say so myself. It definitely had it's ups and downs but the ups outweigh them, which is nice to say. There have been a few highlights that stick out in mind for 2015 and I thought it would be fun to look back at my year and share those highlights with you.

The Job
I'll start off with what sticks to mind the most for 2015 and that's my new job. In July I was interviewed for a new job and told that same day that I would be starting my career in education in September. This was my happiest moment of 2015 I'd say because there was nothing I wanted more than this career path for a really long time. I'd spent most of the year feeling stuck in my retail career and niggling in the back of my mind was the career dream. I knew I eventually had to do something about it, so I decided to finally take control of my life and took all the time and effort I could into working my way towards getting the job I needed to be happy again. And now I get to go to work and come back from work everyday with a smile on my face with a job I love doing!

The House
So for most of 2015, I was living with my grandparents whilst the family home was stripped to it's shell and built back up again. My parents had planned the big extension in 2014 and by February we were all moved out ready for the builders to start. Just before I started my new job in September I finally moved back home and settled into my new bedroom. I'd never ever had a bedroom on my own before so I was really excited to finally know what it was like to have a space to call my own. As well as my new room I quickly began to appreciate being at home and spending time with my family. My grandparents couldn't take us all in to her house, so my Dad and brother were living with other family members. I missed my family and I missed my home and I'm so happy to be back to regular life.

The Holiday to Portugal
This year for our holiday we went to Portugal. John and I spent a week out there and split the week between my family's home town and Lisbon. We'd never seen Lisbon before so we really wanted to see it, and with my Dad living so close to the city, it was a great chance to see him and my sister and spend some time with them. As well as visiting the whole family and being tourists in Lisbon, I also got to meet the newest member of the family and the start of our next generation. My cousin gave birth to little Carolina in September and I was so happy and excited to meet her at a tiny two weeks! The holiday was pretty much planned around meeting the bundle of joy and catching up with family so it was a pretty busy and hectic holiday but a great one too!

Blogging Events
This year was full of blogging events and I actually attended a few of them! This year I got to go to the Bloggers Festival, Bloggers Love Fashion Week AW15, Hillary's Crafternoon, Bloggers Xmas, Magnet Look Launch Event and Bloggers Love Fashion Week SS15! It was lovely to go to so many events this year, and I had so much fun at all of them meeting so many brands and bloggers, catching up with friends and making new ones! This year was definitely amazing for blogging events and I can't wait to see which ones 2016 brings.

There may not be many highlights but the few I have have been huge for me! They've meant a lot to me and have bought me, my family and boyfriend a lot of joy this year. Of course there are always ups and downs to the year, but honestly. 2015: you've been good to me and taught me so much! Though it's coming quickly to an end now, I'd have to say it's not a year I'll be forgetting fast and I'm really looking forward to 2016. Let's go for a second good year in a row now shall we!? Who's going to join me in an awesome 2016!?
